Frequently Asked Questions
Is CBD good for pain relief?
CBD oil shows promise as a treatment for pain. The way researchers believe it affects receptors in the brain and immune system means it may reduce inflammation and pain. However, more research is needed before researchers can say with certainty that CBD oil is an effective treatment for pain.
Can CBD help you sleep?
In modest doses, CBD is mildly alerting. Cannabidiol activates the same adenosine receptors as caffeine, a stimulant. But several patients with sleep issues report that ingesting a CBD-rich tincture or extract a few hours before bedtime has a balancing effect that facilitates a good night’s sleep.
Is there a difference between CBD oil & Hemp oil?
CBD oil is generally used for medicinal purposes, treating inflammation, pain, sleeping disorders and even certain types of epileptic seizures. Hemp-seed oil is used as a protein supplement for food, as varnish for wood and, because of its remedial properties for hair and skin.
In addition to being derived from slightly different strains of the same plant, hemp oil and CBD oil are produced from different parts of their respective plants.
Hemp oil is produced from the seeds of the hemp plant, much like oils derived from olives, almonds, and coconuts. CBD is produced from the flowers, leaves, and stalks of the Cannabis sativa plant.
That doesn’t mean that the flowers, leaves, and stalks of the hemp plant don’t have a purpose. All parts of the hemp plant can be used in one form or another. The key thing to remember about hemp is that it is NOT psychoactive or medicinal like the Cannabis sativa plant. This is because the hemp plant is very low in cannabinoids.
What does CBD taste like?
It is important to know, CBD does have a distinct flavour. No, it doesn’t taste like marijuana, but it has been described by several as an ‘earthy’ flavour. The higher the mg strength, the more powerful the CBD flavour will be.
Can you drive whilst taking CBD?
Yes, you should be able to drive after taking CBD. Our CBD contain less than 0.2% of THC and will have no psychoactive effects on your body.
What are the potential side effects of CBD?
These are the known side effects of CBD:
- Inhibition of hepatic drug metabolism/decreased activities of p-glycoprotein and other drug transporters.
- Dry mouth.
- Increased tremor in some Parkinson’s patients.
- Low blood pressure.
Will CBD show up on a drug test?
Because there are only trace amounts of THC found in CBD, in most cases it will not cause a positive drug test when consumed at suggested servings. Most tests do not detect the presence of CBD (cannabidiol).
CBD is a non-psychoactive compound that doesn’t cause a high. Fortunately, the urine drug test for THC and its metabolites is known to have very little cross-reactivity to cannabinoids that are not psychoactive, such as CBD.
Is CBD legal in the UK?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is not considered a controlled substance in the UK, and is therefore 100% legal. Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is the psychoactive chemical responsible for causing the cannabis high, and is illegal. The UK has set the maximum THC content of hemp at 0.2%.
Will I get ‘high’ from CBD?
CBD does not get you ‘high’ in the traditional sense of smoking, vaping, or ingesting cannabis that contains high levels of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). THC is what causes the “hazy”, “stoned,” euphoric, sometimes mind-altering thoughts and feelings that are typically associated with cannabis use.
What is CBD and what does it do?
CBD is the abbreviation for cannabidiol, the cannabinoid second only to THC when it comes to average volume. Recently, research has shown CBD to have analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and anti-anxiety properties without the psychoactive effects (the “high” or “stoned” feeling) that THC provides.
